Terms of Service

Last updated: March 12, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Volt, a quoting, invoicing, job tracking, and customer management software service for electricians and other trades businesses. Volt is provided as a business-to-business software service for companies and sole traders that need to prepare quotes, manage customer records, issue invoices, and operate related workflows online.

1. Who provides the service

Volt is provided by the operator of this service through the Volt application and related website content. By creating an account or using Volt, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, the business you represent.

2. Eligibility and business use

Volt is intended for business users. You must provide accurate registration details, keep your login credentials secure, and use the service only for lawful business activities. You are responsible for the actions taken through your account and for ensuring your staff or subcontractors use the service appropriately.

3. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use Volt for unlawful, fraudulent, or misleading activity;
  • upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or interfere with the security or availability of the service;
  • store or process data you do not have the right to use;
  • reverse engineer, copy, resell, or misuse the platform except as allowed by law.

4. Subscription and payment terms

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on the plan you select. Payments are processed through Stripe or another disclosed payment processor. By subscribing, you authorise recurring billing until you cancel. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where we expressly agree otherwise. If payment fails, we may suspend paid features until the account is brought up to date.

5. Your data

You retain ownership of the data you enter into Volt, including company information, customer records, quotes, invoices, notes, and uploaded files. You grant us the limited rights needed to host, process, back up, and display that data so the service works as intended. We do not claim ownership of your business data.

6. Availability and service changes

We aim to keep Volt available and secure, but no online service is guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free at all times. We may improve, modify, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. Where changes materially affect paid customers, we will try to give reasonable notice.

7. Termination

You may cancel your subscription and close your account at any time. If you intend to terminate your use of a paid plan, please give 30 days' notice before the next renewal date where possible. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, pose a security risk, or fail to pay subscription charges. When an account is closed, data export remains available for a reasonable period so you can retrieve your records.

8. Limitation of liability

Volt is provided on a business-use basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude indirect, consequential, special, or loss-of-profit claims. Our total liability arising from the service will not exceed the fees paid by you to Volt in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of Volt, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

10. Contact

If you have questions about these terms, contact the business operating this Volt service through the contact details provided on the website or in your account communications.
